Torsion springs are coil springs. The end of the torsion spring is fixed to other components. When other components rotate around the center of the spring, the spring pulls them back to their original position to produce torque or rotational force. The torsion spring can store and release angular energy or statically fix a device by rotating the force arm around the central axis of the spring body. These springs are usually close fitting, but there is a pitch between the coils to reduce friction. They create resistance to rotation or external forces. According to the application requirements, the rotation direction of the torsion spring (clockwise or counterclockwise) is designed to determine the rotation direction of the spring. Each circle is either closely or separately, which can be suitable for torsional load (at right angles to the spring axis). The end of the spring can be wound into a hook or a straight torsion arm.
parameter
Torsion spring is the extreme of variant spring. From single torsion spring to double torsion spring, special-shaped torsion spring and even the deformation of various torsion bars can be formed according to design. Therefore, it is difficult to master the necessary data of torsion spring during design:
(1) Free length.
(2) Control diameter: (a) outer diameter, (b) inner diameter, (c) inner diameter of the casing, or (d) outer diameter of the circular rod crossed.
(3) Wire size "wire diameter".
(4) Material (type and grade).
(5) Number of turns: (a) total number of turns and (b) right or left rotation.
(6) Torsional force: the number of pounds deflected to an angle.
(7) Maximum deflection (angle from free position).
(8) The form of the end.
Please indicate: material diameter (d), outer diameter (d), torsion arm length (L), free height (LO), and other geometric dimensions, such as guide moment (T 1, T 2... T J) and corresponding torsion angle( Ψ )
